Event Description

Simply bring your good self, kick back and enjoy an evening of casual elegance offering live music + meditation + film + genuine on-stage conversation between Jeff McMullen and Jono Fisher. We will also celebrate our "Kindness Award" recipient, Tracey Allen from Red Cockatoo. You'll also meet other kind, curious and open-minded people over a drink or two. It will tickle your mind and hopefully open your heart - a kind of cultural and inspirational jam session!

 

Special Guests

Jeff McMullen: Prizewinning journalist, filmmakers and activist. He's chatted with John and Yoko, dined with world leaders, hung out with Sting and is on good terms with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Jeff is one of those rare individuals who takes bold stands on important social issues while staying connected to what he calls “the sacred that we have closed our minds to.”

Abby Dobson: The Rolling Stone magazine described listening to Abby as a “luminously beautiful experience”. She is an ARIA award nominated artist and 1998, her song “Even when I’m sleeping” was voted song of the year. Whether singing to 70,000 in The Domain or in an intimate venue, her sublime voice and great presence uplifts and reassures. Watch a video of her playing here.

Cliona Molins: A stunning Irish Harpist. She uses the wondrous, model tones of the harp, turning the act of listening into an invitation into sacred space. 

Khandro Thrinlay Chodon: Renowned female meditation teacher from a great family of Tibetan yogis. A rare treat to be with her on her Australian visit. 

Terry McArthur: Poet, songwriter and playwright. His poems have appeared in The New England Review with his songs being recorded by John Farnham and James Blundell.

Tracey Allen: Our second “Kindness Award” recipient. She is the founder Red Cockatoo Australia that is a non for profit company creating beautiful environmentally friendly gift cards featuring authentic Indigenous art. Red cockatoo looks for new opportunities for Indigeneous Australians to showcase their work in an economically sustainable framework. of a not for profit company that creates beautiful environmentally friendly gift cards featuring authentic Indigenous art.
